Our KlickTipp plugin provides both a set of skills and the KlickTipp MCP server, packaged together for Claude and Codex:
- The MCP server is what actually connects to your KlickTipp account and exposes it as tools — for newsletters, contacts, tags, custom fields and opt-in processes. See the plugin README for how it works and what it can do on its own, with any MCP client.
- The skills teach the assistant how to use those tools well on top of that connection — the editor structure, reporting, split testing and messaging workflows the tools expose. We update the skills often as the tool set grows, so the current list lives in the plugin README rather than here.
If you only need the raw connection — for example with an MCP client that doesn't support Claude or Codex plugins — connect the MCP server directly instead, as described in Connect the KlickTipp MCP server. Everything in that article (available tools, safety behavior, and the unknown tool / production rollout status) applies here too, since the plugin uses the same server.
- A KlickTipp Premium, Deluxe, or Enterprise subscription.
- Permission to sign in to the KlickTipp account you want to use.
- A client that supports remote MCP servers and OAuth 2.0.
- Claude: A Claude account in which Plugins are available and permission to install plugins. Claude Pro license recommended.
- ChatGPT: A ChatGPT account in which Plugins are available and permission to install plugins. ChatGPT Plus license for personal use with Codex, or ChatGPT Business license for managed workspace use with Codex and the Cloud Application.
- Client-specific account and administrator requirements are explained below.
Note: If you're thinking about using KlickTipp and just want an overview of the features our MCP server offers, we provided an overview of all currently available tools in this documentation.
This creates a direct MCP connection with the KlickTipp skills. If your client supports only the MCP connection, install the KlickTipp MCP Server instead.
The KlickTipp plugin is available directly from Claude’s Community plugin directory.
- Open Claude and select Customize.
- Open Plugins.
- Select Discover.
- Search for KlickTipp.
- Open the KlickTipp Community plugin and select Add.
- Connect your KlickTipp account and complete the sign-in when prompted.
- Start a new chat before using the plugin.
The KlickTipp connection is now ready to use.
Known issue: Signing in to a plugin added directly in Claude Desktop can currently fail during the authorization step. If step 6 or 7 above does not complete, use the workaround under Sign-in fails in Claude Desktop below.
If you already use Claude Code:
- Start a new Claude Code session.
- Send the installation prompt provided below:
Please install the KlickTipp plugin from this repository
https://github.com/klicktipp/agent-plugins- Approve the requested setup steps and sign in to your KlickTipp account when prompted.
- Log in with your KlickTipp username and password if you aren't already logged in.
- Review the access request, select → Allow, and then return to Claude.
- Open a new chat before using the MCP Server.
If you have a personal ChatGPT account, use Codex in the ChatGPT desktop app:
- Download the ChatGPT desktop app.
- Open the app and sign in with your ChatGPT account.
- Select Codex.
- Start a new local chat.
- Send the installation prompt provided below:
Please install the KlickTipp plugin from this repository
https://github.com/klicktipp/agent-plugins- Navigate to Connectors, KlickTipp and click on Connect.
- Log in with your KlickTipp username and password if you aren't already logged in.
- Review the access request, select → Allow, and then return to ChatGPT.
- Open a new chat before using the MCP Server. You do not need to use the terminal or install the Codex CLI.
ChatGPT does not currently offer a self-service "add a marketplace from a GitHub repository" flow. A non admin user can't point ChatGPT's plugin browser at klicktipp/agent-plugins themselves. Two options instead:
- An admin navigates to Workspace settings > Plugins.
- In Plugins, select Add.
- Choose Import from Marketplace and enter the KlickTipp plugin repository:
https://github.com/klicktipp/agent-plugins - Once the marketplace has synced, the KlickTipp plugin appears in the workspace's approved plugin list.
- Team members enable their own connection now via selecting it in Plugins via Connect.
- Sign in with your KlickTipp username and password, if you are not already logged in.
- Review the access request, select Allow, and return to ChatGPT.
Completing sign-in for a plugin added directly in Claude Desktop can currently fail during the authorization step. Until this is resolved, register the MCP server directly instead of through the plugin: use the prompt-based setup under Connect the KlickTipp MCP server in a new Claude Code session (or claude mcp add/claude mcp login by hand).
This also makes the connection available in Claude Desktop on the same computer, because the desktop app uses a locally registered MCP server directly, not only one registered through a plugin. If you already installed the KlickTipp plugin as well, remove one of the two sources so the same tools do not appear twice:
claude mcp remove klicktipp --scope userThese aren't specific to the plugin — see the troubleshooting section of Connect the KlickTipp MCP server.
